Free food strikes us as something odd. "What's the catch?" Yet 100 years ago & before, it was the norm for food to be free, not counting labor. That's the catch, free food takes work.

I think the biggest perk of growing your own food is that you're "free" of the paranoia of high-fructose corn syrup, preservatives and countless other frightening ingredients the FDA allows consumers to eat. I applaud all the effort you and your wife did. Looks like a lot of hard work.
